The Pink Brandywine Tomato has lightly ribbed shoulders and potato-leaf foliage. Whether that’s the reason no two are alike, only the tomato knows. The vigorous vine takes its time to ripen the 1-2 lb blushing pink fruit with a small seed core. A beautiful slicer with a sweet, tangy flavor to look forward to late in the season.

What do you mean by growing Organic food?

Currently, the USDA says that in order for something to be organic it CANNOT be grown with any chemical fertilizers, synthetic substances, irradiation, sewage sludge, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
As long as you start by using Non-GMO seeds in your garden and continue to grow them without using chemical fertilizers, synthetic substances, or irradiation, sewage sludge then technically your garden will be "Organic". What Organic really means?
Being "Organic" means that irradiation, sewage sludge, synthetic fertilizers, prohibited pesticides, and genetically modified organisms (GMO's) were not used during the growing process.

What is a Genetically Modified seed?

Genetically modified (GM) seeds have been genetically altered in a lab somewhere and have had specific changes introduced into their DNA, also called Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO's).
The interesting thing about GM seeds is that gardeners are not able to save the seeds after harvest and must buy seed every year from the corporation that sold them to you.

The good thing with open-pollinated plants is that it will continue to reproduce new generations of those plants.

This was my first time growing a tomato plant from a seed instead of buying already grown baby tomato plants from the store. I wanted to grow it myself since this was a variety that I couldn't buy as live plants and it's also non-hybrid, non-GMO. Since it was my first time experimenting with planting from the start, the seed germination rate was amazing but unfortunately I killed most of my sprouts with my carelessness or they just plain died from dehydration (or too much hydration), no fault of the seeds itself, just my poor gardening skills. BUT, the one that managed to survive my (unintended) slaughter, I proudly planted among the tomato plants I've bought at the stores. It was smaller than already grown store bought ones at start....but now? The store bought ones has already started wilting and drying out on the bottom stems, but this Brandywine tomato I've grown from seeds from seedsnow.com is strong and healthier than ever. It has minimal to no drying out or wilting, and the body of the tomato plant is so thick and strong like a tree! I can't wait to taste the tomato that will grow from this strong and healthy plant. I was just so impressed comparing the state of the tomato plants bought from the store vs. the one I grew myself from the seedsnow.com seeds, so I was compelled to write this long review. Long words short, I'm buying MUCH more seeds next year and going for an ALL home grown brandywine tomato plants in my garden! Thanks so much for the great quality seeds, SeedsNow!
